Valley Zoo Sleepover

The Beavers and Cubs had a sleepover at the Valley Zoo this weekend. We participated as zoo keepers and fed many kinds of zoo animal plus we learned about threatened and endangered species. Both Bubbles and I were impressed by the questions the Beavers and Cubs asked.

Best part of the program was our night time story by Bubbles of the adventures of Bubbles, Hawkeye, Akela and Baloo last sleepover at the zoo (which Bubbles will publish later this month).

I would like to thank all those beavers, cubs, venturer and parents who came out and made this sleepover a wonderful time.

As a reminder there will be no meeting on November 28th.

Beaver Sleepover Reminder

The Beavers and Cubs will be sleeping over at the Valley Zoo on November 24th to the
25th. Our group will meet at the Valley Zoo Saito Center at 6:00 PM on November 24th and the event ends at 11:00 AM on November 25th (in time for those CFL fans to enjoy the Grey Cup, GO SASKATCHEWAN). You will need to bring a sleeping bag, air/foam mattresses and any overnight supplies you may need.

You can enter the Zoo through the administration entrance. This entrance is located on the right-hand side of Buena Vista Road. The gate is electronic and will automatically open when a vehicle is pulled in close to the gate. We will be gathering in the Saito Centre.

Lest We Forget

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to come out and participate for this year's Remembrance Day Parade at the Butterdome. After the ceremonies I was approached by many dignitaries who were very impressed with our Scout group. A special thanks to my flag bearers and to Bubbles who represented our group in laying of the wreath.

I also want to thank all the other Scout Groups attending the parade. It is nice to see Gold Bar, Riverbend, Blue Quill and Burnwood Scout groups marching.

Reminder to parents that there will be no meeting this week.

Remembrance Day Parade

The 24th Parkallen Scout Group will be marching at the Remembrance Day Parade at the Butterdome on November 11th. We will be meeting as a group in full uniform at 10:00 AM sharp. Bubbles and I hope to see all of you there.
