October 19, 2005

Thanks to all Beavers and Beaver-Parents who participated in the bottle drive this past Saturday. To all the Beavers who were not able to make it, that's okay. You'll get your chance a little later on.
A reminder that the meeting today is in the Gymnasium at the school. Someone took over the classroom, so we're going to have an extended game-time.
Please have your popcorn forms and money tonight.

Next week, we're planning a Hallowe'en meeting.

Thanks,

Bubbles.

Bottle Drive Today!

Hi. It’s Bubbles. I’m sorry for the extreme lateness of this posting. I hope that this is just a confirmation of what you already know. Today is the day of our fall bottle drive. We need to have as many Beavers and their parents out as possible to help us raise the funds needed for activities, crafts, camps and badges. The Bottle Drive begins at 9:30 am at the Parkallen Community Hall and will end at about 1-2:00 pm (except for those who are sorting at the Parkallen Hall). Beavers and Cubs will be assigned routes and will need to be teamed with drivers who can transport the bottles and Food Bank donations to the Depot. (Ventures, Rovers, older Scouts and adults will be at the Parkallen Hall sorting.) Beavers should all be wearing their Uniform. There will be coffee, lunch and refreshments available at the Parkallen Hall from 9:30 to 2:00. You can also stop at the Hall to use the washrooms.

Again, I apologize for not getting this information out sooner.

I hope to see you out there this morning.

Liam (Bubbles)

Meeting for October 5, 2005

Hello Beavers and Beaver parents,
This is Bubbles, the first-year Beaver Leader with special notification for this Wednesday's Beavers meeting.
Wednesday, we will be meeting at the University of Alberta campus to have a scavenger hunt!

Here is the Scavenger Hunt List:
- find 5 different leaves
- find at least 2 types of wild life on campus
- get a signature from a Safe Walk Team
- find 3 types of trees
- collect the most garbage
- find materials a bird would make a nest with
- find a library
- find the tallest building
- find 3 buildings that have a 3-letter name
- find a pen or pencil
- find a coin
- find something that is both yellow and green (U of A colours)

The scavenger hunt will have prizes for the team that collects the most items on the list.
Beavers should dress appropriately for the weather, since it's been cold lately and the meeting will be outside.
We will meet out front of the administrative building of the U of A. It is on 114 street, north of 87 avenue.
You should all have received maps in email and since I'm having issues with pictures on here right now, I hope those maps will do.

Thank you very much,

Liam "Bubbles" Johnstone

Parkallen Beavers

Hi, this is Bubbles of the Parkallen Beavers group. This is the place we'll be putting information for meetings, pictures and writeups about recent Beavers outings and hopefully receive some feedback from Beavers and parents.
